Crystal Klassen is a unique contemporary visual artist whose work has been seen around the world. Known for her photographic portraits, she also tells stories through painting and the graphic arts.

Her aesthetic is influenced by photography, Arts & Crafts, classical painting, 1960’s children’s illustration, the Group of Seven, travel, interior design, architecture, antiques, history, portraiture, fashion, nature, film, fear, doubt, hope, and the prairie life.

Born and raised in rural Saskatchewan, she taught herself how to draw and paint at an early age. Her formal art education began at the Alberta College of Art and Design, and culminated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Saskatchewan. With later dreams of becoming an illustrator and graphic artist, she went on to further her education and obtain a diploma in graphic arts.

Currently the artist lives in Saskatchewan, Canada, and plans to exhibit her work extensively in the next few years.
